Effect and degradation pathway of sulfamethoxazole removal in MBR by PVDF/DA modified membrane

To reduce the hazard of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) to water ecology, removal mechanism SMX in wastewater was revealed. This study evaluated PVDF/DA modified membrane bioreactor (MBR) toward and degradation as a recalcitrant micropollutant. A strategy dopamine for surface modification polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) proposed, prepared. Subsequently, run MBR 60 days, reactor could produce good ability after certain acclimation. When concentration increased from 0.5 2 mg/L, liquid chromatography used analysis, results showed that average rate above 85%. The effect COD NH 4+ -N degree fouling were also evaluated. By measuring extracellular polymer (EPS) content, 30 days operation, protein polysaccharide contents cake layer on PVDF 1.35 times 1.49 membrane, respectively, alleviate fouling, thereby improving service life reducing its operating cost. Finally, by-products are achieve deeper insight into mechanisms process.
